The merger of the two largest Baltic pellet concerns

A year ago, the Latvian manufacturer of wood pellets LLC «Latgran» sold his entire share capital of the Estonian company for the production of wood pellets«Graanul Invest». As a result of a merger will be increased the annual production capacity of the united company to 1.8 million tons of pellets from wood. Company «Latgran» is the largest producer of wood pellets in Latvia. During 2014 four Latgran's entities produced about 480 thousand tons of wood pellets.

Estonian manufacturer of wood pellets «Graanul Invest» is the largest in the Baltic States. The company works with the mid-2000s. For the whole 2014 at its facilities located in the territory of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, it was made more than 850 thousand tons of pellets from wood. In addition to the production of wood pellets, the company has several thermal power plants and a range of solid fuel boilers. The total capacity of all power plants of the company is 21 megawatts.

The result of combining the two largest Baltic producers of wood bio-fuel in the Baltic region will be the emergence of a major producer of wood pellets.
